2nd Fibroid surgery

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

On December 19th, I had my 2nd fibroid surgery. A surgery that could’ve and should’ve been prevented.

A fibroid that my OBGYN should’ve removed all in one session.

In October, I visited my IVF Doctor with the intention of pursuing my Frozen embryo transfer in December. He completed a Saline Infusion Sonohysterogram were the fibroid could be seen located in the implantation area. You could see the indentation my uterus had. It wasn’t smooth.

He then informed me that due to the fibroid’s location I would need it removed before moving forward. So December 19th I have my 2nd fibroid surgery; a hystercopy myomectomy. I returned home in so much pain even though the RN and anesthesiologist recommended fentantyl before turning home. I turned down their lovely offer.

2nd fibroid surgery

December 5th I had my 2 week follow-up with my IVF doctor, he checked to make sure my cervix was closed and to meet again in 2 weeks to see exactly when our frozen embryo transfer will take place and what our options are.

I had a few questions I wanted to ask to make sure the next round turns into a healthy pregnancy and bring home a living baby:

  1. Should I complete PGT on our embryos?
  2. If we do PGT on our remaining embryos will that maximize the chance of a miscarriage?
  3. Will I be put on Lovenox as my anticoagulant medication?
  4. If I have a SCH, will I stop Lovenox?

I also made an appointment with my Neuropathic Doctor to make sure I am doing everything correctly the weeks before and during IVF.

TTC after Pregnancy Loss has caused so much panic and anxiety and even though I did everything right the first time. I want to make sure I continue doing everything even better this time and become more knowledgeable about concerning signs or what medications and exercises will be the most helpful for me.

2023 I will bring home a living baby!
