About me photo

Hola! I’m Jelissa! I’m originally from Connecticut but currently live in Florida!

I’m married to my best friend, and I am a mother to a baby girl that passed away in my belly while I was 5 months pregnant conceived by IVF (In-vitro Fertilization).

My Husband and I completed our first round of IVF in January of 2021 after years of trying to conceive and being told we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, but a second medical opinion discovered what caused us to be infertile.

I had complications during my pregnancy, but none of these complications resulted from finding out during my doctor’s appointment that our baby of 5 months old no longer had a heartbeat.

I created this blog as a dedication to my daughter and my future children. I want to share my story and help families grieve the loss of their beautiful children, give them an outlet to express how they feel, and provide resources that can somehow possibly make this just a little bit easier.

This is an open space to vent, tell your story if you’re comfortable doing so, and importantly, to educate others on how to support their friends and family members grieve during the most tragic and difficult time of their lives.

I will cover topics about pregnancy/ infant loss, IVF and grief. I am not a medical professional, and the topics I cover will only be based on the information I was given during and after my pregnancy.
