I recently spoke about some ideas on helping your friends and family members cope with their miscarriage/pregnancy loss. Well, I realize that it can be difficult for some to show their support in the form of words. I learned that it can be challenging to support someone if you haven’t been through a specific loss.

My husband gifted me a necklace with our daughter’s name and footprints. I cried hysterically when I saw her tiny feet. This was an extraordinarily kind and precious gift. I wear it every day. I even told my husband to bury me with this necklace on; that is how much I love it. I want one in all colors! A couple of days after my loss, I received this big envelope. It was a certificate stating that a tree was planted in a forest in Florida in honor of our daughter. The website states, “A way to honor the memory of someone you love while helping reforesting and sustainability efforts, giving the world a gift too!” My best friend knows how environmentally friendly I am, and I try my best to be sustainable and give back to our planet. A candle with their child’s name or picture. A woman in my support group was gifted a candle with her son’s picture.
