The last few posts have been heavy on the heart, but I’m grateful I could share my story with the world. I wanted to share this next post to remind myself that not my entire pregnancy was complicated. Here’s our Pregnancy Announcement!

January 28th, 2021 was the day I found out I was pregnant and announced the news to my husband. By far, the highest point of my life.

When I received the telephone call from the nurse regarding my positive pregnancy test, I told her that my husband’s birthday was in a couple of days, so this would be the perfect present. I thought of holding off a couple more days to tell him for his birthday, but I couldn’t keep a secret like that.

For the rest of the day, I searched Pinterest for pregnancy announcement ideas; it was the only thing I could think of. What would be the perfect way to tell him I’m pregnant?

I then received a telephone call from my husband saying he stopped by a dealership and found a car that he liked (he was shopping for a vehicle at the time) and asked if I could go with him to look at the car later today. Really?! Out of all dayyssss!!!??

I left work early and rushed to a couple stores to put a basket together. I printed a copy of the pregnancy results with a note saying WE’RE PREGNANT! I sat in the parking lot of Burlington and put together this box with little trinkets and then placed it under my passenger seat and covered it with a jacket.

I met my husband at the dealership an hour later. I thought we would spend a solid 15 minutes there just to look at a car. JOKES ON ME, we were there for 3 hours!!! I was starving and super anxious to keep these results to myself!

Finally, after what felt like forever, we returned home (in a new car). I quickly got the basket from my car and snuck it inside while he admired his car outside for a couple of minutes. I stood by the kitchen table, and when he came through the door, I looked at him with a silly grin, and he asked, “what is that?” He looked through the box and seemed to be in disbelief. I told him to read the paper with the results, and he immediately smiled and gave me the biggest hug. I blurted out loud WE’RE PREGNANT!

He smiled from ear to ear and repeated after me, “YES! WE’RE PREGNANT!”

There has never been any other day like that one. I felt relieved to finally get pregnant after so many years, no longer stressed and wondering why we weren’t able to get pregnant yet. Those thoughts no longer controlled me. That day was perfect.

We finally thought we were winning at life. We did everything we had to do, and we finally received a blessing. We both felt unstoppable, accomplished, and grateful. I beg that the universe allows me the opportunity to tell my husband that we are pregnant again.
